This is your basic buttercream… It’s super easy to make, goes with anything, and great for those with a sweet tooth!
Be sure to start with room temperature butter. If it is very hot in your kitchen like 80F or higher, you should cool your butter a bit before starting.
Using your stand mixer, beat butter until softened and scrape the bowl.
Sift 3 cups of the sugar into the butter and beat until combined.
Add the milk and vanilla and beat to combine.
Sift in more sugar 1 cup at a time, beating in between, until you get the right texture. It should be thick enough to maintain it's shape when piped, but not so thick you can't pipe it.
